Frequently Asked Questions About What Tuneline Provides

Short, direct answers to the questions that come up most about what Tuneline does and doesn't provide.

FAQ

Does Tuneline come with any channels, movies, or shows out of the box?

No. Tuneline installs with zero content. There is no catalog, library, or default source of any kind. The app is empty until you add a source yourself.

Does Tuneline access or feature any content beyond what's on the device?

No. Tuneline plays audio/video streams from playlist URLs the user provides. The app does not include, host, curate, or recommend any content. Nothing is accessed unless you first supply the address to reach it.

Does Tuneline maintain a list of recommended sources or providers?

No. There's no discovery feature, no suggested-sources list, and no ranking of one source over another. Every source in the app was added by the person using it.

Who is responsible for what plays inside Tuneline?

The person who added a source is responsible for choosing it and for their relationship with whoever operates it. The operator of a source is responsible for what that source actually serves. Tuneline is responsible for the player: parsing playlists correctly, playing streams reliably, and handling account data properly. (Full policy.)

Does Tuneline store or cache copies of streams on its own servers?

No. Playback happens device-to-source, directly. Tuneline's servers handle account sync and licensing, not content delivery. (How the architecture works.)

Is Tuneline a content service, like a streaming subscription?

No. Tuneline is a media player, in the same category as VLC and Kodi — a tool that plays whatever it's pointed at, not a service that assembles and sells a catalog.

More on that category distinction.

If I have a complaint about content at a source I added, who do I contact?

The operator of that source — Tuneline has no ability to remove content that was never on a Tuneline server. For anything about how the Tuneline app itself behaves, reach support at support@tuneline.app.

Does adding a source to Tuneline mean Tuneline reviewed or approved it?

No. The app parses whatever a source provides and displays it. There is no review step, because there is no catalog for a review step to apply to.

The short version

Tuneline is a media player only — like VLC. It does not provide, host, or distribute any content. Every source that plays inside it came from the person using it.
